This is definitely a highly recommended tv series. Gilmore Girls, a comedy-drama is so relatable. It's a classic but it's also contains humor. They're mostly subtle when you pay attention. You first meet the main protagonist, Lorelai Gilmore. She's known for her bubbly personality, a crazy appetite and a strong metabolism with an addiction to caffeine. She's a single mother to an amazing, young teenager, also named Lorelai but prefer to be called by her nickname, Rory. Lorelai had chosen a simple life from her silver-spoon priveleged life. She started off as a maid and then gradually became the hotel manager. She grabs coffee from her love interest, Luke who owns a diner, which was originally a hardward store his father owned before passing. They exchange daily witty banter which are obvious flirtations. Their chemistry is obvious to everyone but unseen by each other or they're choosing not to face the truth. Until way, way later...

Rory is accepted into Chilton, a prestigious school but the fees are asounding, so Lorelai asks her estrange wealthy parents for help. And in return for their contribution, they want a weekly Friday dinner. At first, Rory was excited to start somewhere new until she bumps into her love interest, Dean. The connection is so obviously adorable, watching the two gradually grow closer episode by episode. And Rory eventually learns what love is. Lorelai's love life isn't a cake walk either. She dates a few men but there's an obvious chemistry that's developing over the years.

She was hesitant to say the words because of her upbringing. Her father, Christopher was barely in the picture. Kind of in and out. And her mother raised her.

And with Emily, Lorelai's mother, who's the matriach of the eponymous family, is overbearing, difficult to please, vain and grandiose. She is so much like my mother. I understand the frustration Lorelai goes through whenever she has a face-off with her mother. They have their good moments but mostly Emily ensures she has the upper hand through manipulation.

Jess, Luke's nephew rolls into town and changes the dynamic between Dean and Rory. She's intrigued by him even though at first she's irritated by his 'think-he's-too-cool' exterior behaviour. But like most girls, tempted by the bad boy vibe. Yeah, we've all been there...

But she learns her lesson when Jesse suddenly leaves without a word.

Her whole life she planned for Harvard but chooses Yale. When she starts she meets the charming and wealthy womaniser, Logan. She's intrigued by his secret society, Life and Death Brigade. They have a latin motto, 'In Omnia Paratus' meaning ready for anything. She writes a story about this for the Yale Daily News.

He doesn't notice much of her until she makes her first moves at her grandparents' affirmation and she wants to be with him. He makes it known he's not a commitment type of guy. She gives no strings attached a go but realises she's a monogamus type of person. She was ready to end things between them but Logan had started feeling things for her, so decides to give commitment a go. And they were the perfect couple. But his family is not very accepting, regardless of her a prestigious background. She just doesn't seem like the right fit. And then, to make up for the horrible dinner encounter with the family, Logan's father, Mitchum invites her to take the internship opportunity at one of his newspapers, the Stamford Eagle Gazette. At the end of the internship, Mitchum tells her, she doesn't have what it takes to be a journalist, although she would make a good assistant. It definitely rocks her to the core and hurts her dignity. She does something she doesn't normally do. She turns up to Logan's sister, Honor's engagement party, vents out her frustration and steals a yacht. She's sentenced to 300 hours of community service. She rethinks her lifelong ambitions and current path at Yale. This in turn, turns everything upside down for her mother, Lorelai because she had huge dreams for her daughter and wanted more for her. They become estranged briefly and Rory moves out and into her grandparents' poolhouse.

Rory joins Emily's branch of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Emily seems to get a little jealous how good she was at working for the organisation and almost treats her like Lorelai.

"You're becoming more and more like your mother with every passing day!"

"And you're becoming more and more like my mother's mother with every passing day!"

"That's it! You're grounded!"

"Grounded? I'm 21! You can't ground me!"

"When your father comes home, we're going to talk about the house rules and be on the same page once and for all!"

"You mean my grandfather?!"

She ends up moving out without a word after a confrontation with her grandmother, Emily. She starts living with her childhood best friend, Lane.

This story depicts the exhiliarting journey of the Gilmore women. The series debuted in 2000 and ended with season 7 in 2007.

But returned in 2016, with a mini-series, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, containing four episodes that coincide with the seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall. Rory returns to the little town, Stars Hollow and works as a freelance journalist but seems uncertain about her life. She struggles with her lack of career and ends up resettling back at home to write a book about her life with her mother. The series ends with Rory confessing to her mother, she's pregnant. Every mother's nightmare. Well, at least Rory isn't a teenager at this point of the story... And Lorelai finally marries Luke. A long time coming!
