Dear fellow readers,

I know that this family movie is for children but I cannot help but admit that it moved me in some ways. Perhaps it's due to the writer in me.

Twelve year old Bea stayed with her grandmother while her father was admitted into hospital, waiting for his heart surgery. The same hospital her mother died from cancer. She encounters a young man, Cal with a large furry purple creature, Blue and a butterfly-like creature, Blossom. It starts quite the adventure for her to help the imaginary friends find their persons. She had to help people remember their IF. She learns that Blossom was her grandmother's IF. She inspired her grandmother to dance and remember Blossom.

After her father's surgery, she goes to thank Cal but realises there was no one there, much to her surprise and confusion. She resumes packing and upon rummaging through her father's car, a box of her childhood crafts falls onto the ground. She finds a picture she drew when she was a little girl. It was a picture of herself being at a carnival fair with her parents and as she unfolds the paper to take a closer look, it reveals a clown she called Calvin. She suddenly realised Cal was her IF! She runs back upstairs to the apartment where she first meets Blossom, Blue and Cal. She closes her eyes and thinks very hard. Calvin and all the imaginary friends reappear! Calvin and Bea embrace and reunite.

This movie makes me think about what it would be like if something like this happened. I cannot help but romanticise about having an IF. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I wouldn't mind having someone like Blossom. I liked her.

Until next read... ciao!
